Cudjoe Regional Wastewater Collection System & Treatment Plant
Years of planning and construction have culminated in the completion of one of the largest and most important environmental projects in the Florida Keys. The Cudjoe Regional Wastewater System is now coming online and the Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority and Monroe County would like to thank the residents and property owners for their input, assistance and patience during this important process. Connection notices are being phased, and the majority of connection notices will be delivered in 2016.
This wastewater collection system is being constructed in the Lower Florida Keys, from Mile Marker (MM) 17 to MM 33, and will provide service to Lower Sugarloaf Key, Upper Sugarloaf Key, Cudjoe Key, Summerland Key, Ramrod Key, Middle Torch Key, Big Torch Key, Little Torch Key, Big Pine Key and No Name Key. The proposed Wastewater Treatment Plant will have an average daily design capacity of 0.94 Million Gallons per Day (MGD), and will use a five-stage Bardenpho system capable of meeting the rigorous Advanced Wastewater Treat (AWT) Standards, mandated by the State of Florida.
